Being Likeable Builds More Website Traffic

Posted in More Website Traffic by Marc Arner on the March 17th, 2008

No one wants to visit a business that has a reputation for bad service and staff with attitudes. In fact, those businesses that have such a reputation – vendors, restaurants, retail outlets, etc. – are generally out of business within a very short period of time. A company can offer low prices and quality products, but if their customers simply don’t like them, they are not long for the business world.

The same can be said for the world of websites. Visitors who are able to effectively find a website – through the use of the online search engines – will generally logon. But they are not likely to stay if they find the website less than likeable. In order to efficiently build more website traffic, websites need to be likeable and user friendly, fostering a loyal customer base by:

1. Offering a well-designed, attractive website. In this day and age, there is simply no excuse for an outdated, barebones website. Such a site will very quickly go to the wayside, as visitors will not take the time to logon if they don’t like what they see. It is tantamount to walking into a store that is dirty, unkempt, and seriously out of date. Potential customers would have little desire to enter the business, let alone spend money there; especially when there’s something newer and more attractive right across the street. Internet users have a host of options open to them. Websites that wish to build more website traffic need to recognize the need to stay competitive.

2. Offering quality content. Sure, it’s wonderful to be able to offer a variety of products, goods, and information to visitors. But in order to promote loyalty and foster more website traffic, websites need to understand the importance of offering quality content; that is content that visitors need or that will interest them.

Building more website traffic is about more than just launching a website and hoping people will show up; rather, it is absolutely necessary for website owners to remain committed to what they are offering on that website so that they are staying competitive.
