More Website Traffic for Multiple Sites
At the start of the Internet craze websites were simplistic structures that were meant to hold a virtual spot for businesses that were just recognizing the role that the World Wide Web would likely have on the planet. But today, websites are comprehensive, intricately designed portals for already existing bricks and mortar businesses or businesses that are exclusively virtual. In fact, there are some online businesses that operate multiple websites – each focused on one specific genre but all under the umbrella of a one particular company.
For these websites it is particularly important to work towards building more website traffic, as visitors to one website can mean visitors to the other websites. Building more website traffic is a part of successfully operating a website and those who have multiple sites may find that by creative marketing they can reach their target audience effectively.
In order to build more website traffic among their varied sites, website owners may:
1. Cross-reference content. Each website should including interesting, informative, and entertaining content that speaks to the brand of that particular website. By including continually updated, quality content, websites have a better chance of raising their page ranking with the online search engines. But then, by cross referencing content on sister sites, website owners are essentially cross promoting their other websites and expanding their visitor – and potential customer – base.
2. Include reciprocal links with sister sites – as well as other relevant, quality websites. Reciprocal linking raises the visibility of a website and by raising the visibility of one there is also the opportunity to raise the visibility of the others.
3. Never forget who the audience is for each site. There is a fine line that website owners must walk between engaging the interest of the visitors to one or a few of their other sites and providing content that is completely off target. It is important to remember who we are speaking to; never let a website’s focus stray from the brand.
