Using Press Releases To Garner More Website Traffic
Press releases have long been a tool used to get the word out about a company or service. For generations, when those in marketing, advertising, and public relations wished to get the attention of relevant publications that may be interested in what their company was up to, they would simply type a press release and mail it to the publication. If the content was succinct enough and had an angle the publication could use, they may print it in their publication or even create a larger story out of it.
Today the world of press releases is a bit different. Sure, public relations professionals still use press releases to attract the attention of relevant publications – but in most cases the press releases are simply emailed to the appropriate publication writer or editor.
And now, websites – today’s most thriving businesses – can also use the power of the press release to promote their “company” and attract more website traffic.
Press releases work to garner more website traffic in a number of ways. For one, if picked up by appropriate online publications, the press release may have the opportunity to reach the site’s target audience – an audience that may as yet not have even known about the website.
Further, to ultimately attract more website traffic, a website must first attract the attention of the online search engines. A website can go about this by including keyword rich content on their site that may attract the search engines. Additionally, a press release running in a number of publications and mentioning your website address, only furthers your attempts to attract the online search engines and garner more website traffic.

Power to the people! (…finally).
The REAL value of the social networking tools is ‘press release by/thru the power of consensus’.
A piece gets press/recognition because the people says it’s worth reading and/or knowing.
Power to the People!
…finally.
