No Cookie Cutter SEO, Part II

Posted in Search Engine Optimization by Marc Arner on the July 16th, 2008

In the last post we discussed cookie cutter SEO efforts and how offering a variety of web site clients the same methods for achieving search engine optimization success could be selling them significantly short.

Like all business plans, search engine optimization works best when it is customized to meet the needs of the business in question. While one plan of attack may be perfectly acceptable for one business it may be largely inadequate for another; finding their happy place when it comes to search engine optimization is what will allow a web site to achieve the most comprehensive results.

To that end it pays to work with a web site optimization firm that is dedicated to providing their clients customized solutions to meet their search engine optimization needs. This will begin with a thorough examination of where the web site currently exists on the search engines. A web site must already have certain things in place to be on the radar of the search engines; that is they must have an attractive design and a highly functioning site that will appeal to its visitors. In other words, a web site must start with some kind of respectable ranking on the search engines.

It will be the role of the web site optimization firm to attempt to raise the page rankings of the web site systematically –working with them to include keyword rich content that will appeal to visitors as well as spark the interests of the search engines. Not all use of content will work for all sites; it is the job of the web site optimization firm to determine how best to utilize content and how best to establish reciprocal links to elevate the standing of the web site.

A web site optimization firm should come to prospective clients eager to do whatever it takes to create a customized solution for achieving success on the search engines.
