SEO: The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Posted in Search Engine Optimization by Marc Arner on the May 24th, 2008

Okay, we’ve all heard the term SEO, otherwise known as search engine optimization for those of you that don’t already know the drill. It’s the three letters that inspired an entire virtual world and without them in our back pocket we are rendered ineffective and, well, in less than optimum condition. It may be an oversimplification but without the search engines on our side we don’t stand a chance of stimulating website traffic over the long haul. The search engines are the popular kids in school and without their noted approval, we are relegated to the “geeks and freaks” table for the rest of our school career.

Search engine optimization gets the attention of the search engines and if done correctly will pay off again and again over the life of the website. Those who ignore the importance of SEO are fighting an uphill battle in terms of increasing web traffic and achieving high search engine page rankings.

It’s easy to think that by throwing a few keywords into our content and calling it a day we will stimulate the ongoing attention of the search engines but the challenge is greater and more ongoing than that. We hope for ongoing, positive attention from the search engines and the ability to continually increase web traffic rather than seeing peaks and valleys in visitation.

To help achieve the most consistent SEO efforts that they can, many websites turn to the web site optimization firm to help them define their SEO efforts and put an effective strategy into place. It is not enough to make an effort here and there and expect that this will stand the test of time. SEO is a journey more than it is an event; and by finding skilled entities (the web site optimization firm) that have made the journey you will find navigators that can make the process a much smoother one.
