There are many website optimization firms out there. However, not many of them have the reputation of being honest and/or ethical. Many firms will actually guarantee a top ten ranking over night. This is just not possible. In fact Google has publically stated that any website optimization firm that guarantees results is considered to be fraudulent. Optimizing a website takes hundreds of hours and an extremely high level of expertise. There is no guarantee where ones site will land. A reputable website optimization firm will be able to provide you with a list of customers for whom they have achieved a page one ranking for. This is definitely something you will want to ask for before doing business with any of these firms. Don’t be surprised if many of them cannot produce such a list.

As I mentioned earlier, reaching and maintaining a high ranking on Google or any of the major search engines takes time, expertise and usually a decent amount of capital. In my opinion, any firm offering to FULLY optimize you site for less than five thousand dollars, is just not providing you with the level of service needed to maintain a top ten ranking. Certain keyword phrases are obviously easier to get high rankings for, which means in some cases the job can be done for less and in other cases the phrases may be very competitive which means the job will cost must more than five thousand dollars. A reputable website optimization firm will be able to steer you in the right direction.
